Saints Foundation is an independent charity aligned to Southampton Football Club. Harnessing the passion of the club and its fans we aim to inspire, support and deliver positive change and equality of opportunity for young people and adults at risk across Southampton and surrounding areas. We work across six key themes: youth inclusion, lifelong learning, health and wellbeing, education, schools and enterprise and football and sports development.

1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We work with many groups in the community including older people and those living with dementia. We offer a range of activities including reminiscence and physical exercises suitable for such audiences.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We may find it difficult to reach out to all areas of the community, so we will utilise contacts in the Dementia Action Alliance to help with this.

2. Actions

  • We will become Dementia Friends

All staff and volunteers working for the foundation will become Dementia Friends, giving us all a basic awareness and understanding of dementia and how it affects people.
