Private hire company local and long distance. We are based in Hull, and welcome work from Hull and the East Riding areas. We use a computerised booking and dispatch system, where upon when a booking is taken it is allocated to the nearest car in the area, this reduces mileage for the drivers and hopefully allows us to provide a service which mostly runs on time. We have a large number of vehicles, including mini buses, wedding cars, executive cars and all cars to suit that special occasion. All our vehicles have passed the stringent tests laid out by Hull City Council & the Government, all our drivers have CRB checks also, we firmly believe the comfort & safety of our customers is paramount. Our call back & text back service help greatly to ensure safety.

1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
There are currently 850,000 people living in the UK with dementia. In Yorkshire and the Humber there are over 60,000 people with dementia, and it is predicted that this figure will rise to just over 80,000 by 2021. In 2014 the University of Hull undertook a research project with a key aim to identify what would make Hull dementia friendly. People living with dementia and their carers were consulted and the overwhelming response was that to make Hull Dementia Friendly the people of Hull would need to have an understanding of what it was like to live with dementia.
As an organisation within the Hull boundary, and providing services to the people of Hull it is important to work with other organisations/ business to act on the results/outcomes of the Universities report and work together to make Hull Dementia Friendly.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
The challenges we face include accessing/ releasing staff for dementia awareness training.
Raising dementia awareness with colleagues, ensuring as many staff as possible attend dementia awareness training either via the Hull Dementia Academy’s two hour awareness sessions or completing dementia friends training
Promotion of working towards being dementia friendly
Displaying the working towards being dementia friendly sticker, so all that see the sticker have confidence that our organisation/ business have an understanding of what it is like to live with dementia.
