Local Alliances:
Ealing Dementia Action Alliance

1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Through our community care department we help both carers and those needing help. Our Mental Health department deals directly with a myriad of mental health issues.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

The biggest issue is awareness - people are often unaware that dementia is the reason for a loved one's memory loss and/or they are not aware that help and support is available. Another challenge is the stigma that's attached to the illness.
