1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Through our community care department we help both carers and those needing help. Our Mental Health department deals directly with a myriad of mental health issues.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

The biggest issue is awareness - people are often unaware that dementia is the reason for a loved one's memory loss and/or they are not aware that help and support is available. Another challenge is the stigma that's attached to the illness.

2. Actions

  • MTG Solicitors - Working to help the Local Community

    We will raise awareness of the support that is available within the community. We will provide legal remedies to anyone struggling with community care or mental health issues by working collaboratively with  organisations who require legal assistance for their clients

  • Promote fundriasing events

    We are happy to promote any fundraising events the Alzheimer's Society is holding throughout the year and will liaise with the Dementia Action Alliance in order to do this effectively

    We will hold information published by the Alzheimer's Society at our offices and hand them out to any clients we feel would benefit from receiving a leaflet
