1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We aim to make the store more dementia friendly for local people.  We  hope to raise awareness with our colleagues of how to assist people with dementia who may come into the store.  We will do this by ensuring that our store staff attend the Dementia Friends information sessions.

We will enable staff who are interested to train as a Dementia Friends Champion.  They will then be able to cascade training to other colleagues.

We will help to display relevant information such as the newsletter produced by the Jesmond Dementia Action Alliance.

.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Time constraints.
