1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We are a diverse group catering for all, including those living with dementia and their carers.   We are a friendly arts and craft group and wish to learn more about what we can do to support people living with dementia in our community.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

As we have a range of people with various needs it is difficult to know what difficulties people within the group face but we will try and make our activities suitable for all.

2. Actions

  • Make our Arts Group more Dementia inclusive

We are going to encourage those living with dementia to attend our art group, which is a safe environment to be creative.

  • We are going to review and change our literature

We are going to change our literature to become more dementia friendly

  • We are going to make our members Dementia Friends

We are going to work with and the support the Dementia Action Alliance and make our members dementia friends.  This will be useful if someone living with dementia joins the group.
