1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

It is important to raise awareness of dementia in rural communities. Many people will be  isolated and in need of support. Financial services can be confusing for some people and clear signposting and advice at an  early point is vital.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

The rural nature of the area can present challenges. Services and support need to be linked up and aware of what each other have to offer so that those who need them know what their options are. Being part of a local DAA will help join up this approach.
