1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Aligned to our corporate mission: To be the first choice for pharmacy, health and beauty - caring for people, customers and communities everywhere

We want to ensure we are supporting those affected by dementia in delivering on the "I" statements below

  • I live in an enabling and supportive environment where I feel valued and understood.
  • I have a sense of belonging and of being a valued part of family, community and civic life.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Time resource to allow colleagues to complete the relevant E-Learning – Planning at relevant times to ensure allowing colleagues to be away from their department doesn’t conflict with high workloads

Colleague commitment to a voluntary training session: Engagement on the benefits of having a greater understanding of the illness
