1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
We Hope to provide renewed interest in communal activity for those with dementia by providing an unthreatening, straightforward and supportive environment. We aim to carry out dementia-friendly screenings every month on a Saturday morning at 11.00am. We aim to publicise these sessions within the community. The screening has Staff who are Dementia Friends, Intermission in film. Change of lightening all to make the experience as positive as possible for someone living with dementia.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
We are constrained by our timetable, so we hope Saturday morning Will be a success. We need help to publicise these sessions as much as possible to ensure we get numbers attending to ensure longevity.
We are going to work with the DAA to make as many staff as we can dementia friends.
We are going to support the BaNES Action Alliance
Where possible we are going to support the Dementia Action Alliance.
Dementia friendly cinema screenings
Once a month we are going to host a dementia friendly cinema screening. We have already loaded to find out what would be appropriate for those living with dementia to enjoy the screening.
