1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

I am seeking to joing the local DAA as a volunteer (Dementia Champion) to deliver information sessions to various local organisations, in order to contribute my share of creating a dementia friendly community

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

From my limited experience in the field of promoting dementia awareness, I have discovered there is a considerable nuber of people who are yearning for more information, support, understanding and acceptance of the illness. By providing the information sessions, I hope to be able to offer the basic information (as per the training offers) and be able to signpost people to the Dementia Friends website for further guidance
