1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Improving an individual’s ability to communicate effectively and efficiently but ensuring they are able to hear carers, loved ones and professionals as clearly as possible.


2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Obtaining reliable results from a patient to their care plan can be put in place.


2. Actions

  • Dementia Awareness raising for staff

    We will make our customer facing staff dementia aware e.g. free Dementia Friends sessions, in-house training etc.

  • Dementia Friendly Helper always available

    We will ensure there is a ‘Dementia Friendly’ person on duty at all times by including Dementia Awareness in our induction/training process

  • Extra long Appointment times

    Allow extra time for appointments so people with dementia do not feel rushed and have time to express their hearing concerns


  • Home visits

    Offering hearing assessments in the home so patients feel comfortable in their surroundings
