1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Fitting their needs to what they want and can do, and what can be provided.  Liaising with carers and family members.  All staff are trained in dementia awareness.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Making sure that clients’ needs fit with their capabilities to ensure they are safe and satisfied as far as possible.

2. Actions

  • Dementia Awareness raising for staff

    Ensure all customer facing staff are dementia aware


  • Dementia Friendly Environment

    Ensuring needs of those living with dementia are catered for in refit of shop in November/December 20

  • Making sure that there is a private place available when people may be upset or in need of privacy.

    Providing chairs and spaces for wheelchairs in a private room

  • Embed Dementia Friendly in Organisation

    Ensure that all future staff are trained in dementia awareness.
