1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

BY EMBRACING THE TRAINING SESSIONS AVAILABLE BY THE DEMENTIA FRIENDS AT A LOCAL LEVEL. BRINGS ABOUT A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF DEMENTIA AND THE POTENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE PERSON AND THEIR CARERS. WE CAN BE MORE TOLERANT AND UNDERSTANDING OF PEOPLE'S SYMPTOMS AND DEMONSTRATE COMPASSION.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

THE CHALLENGE WOULD BE IF SOMEONE HAD A 'DON'T CARE' ATTITUDE AT A LOCAL LEVEL. AT AN ORGANISATIONAL LEVEL IT WOULD BE A CHALLENGE IF THE COMPANY DID NOT BUY IN TO THE CONCEPT OF TRAINING FOR ITS STAFF OR THE VALUE OF THAT TRAINING.
