1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Understand better the needs of those living with dementia + Listen.

Support DFIA and other organisations who want to improve understanding of lives of those living with dementia.




2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Lack of knowledge and understanding of dementia.

Lack of awareness of what is available in the community.

Time and resources to support.   

2. Actions

  • Raise Awareness of dementia amongst staff.

    Dementia awareness raising with councillors & Staff

    Organise dementia friendly sessions.

    Promote local DF sessions.

    Encourage our staff to become a DF champion.

  • Promotion of Ilkley Dementia Friendly Action.

     Liaise with and support DFIA.

    Use parish council newsletter & other publicity.

  • Encourage and support businesses and organisations in Ilkley to become dementia friendly.

    Direct to DFIA; DAA; websites.

    Promote importance to businesses and organisations in regards to customers, tourists and own staff.

  • Promote Dementia Awareness.
