1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We have recently become dementia friendly and have provided to our 35 strong team with the necessay information to help deliver a better service to people with dementia.  Raising awareness by marketing and promoting dementia awareness on all our social social media platforms.  We aim to create a relationship and longevity and provide continued growth, awareness and hold numerous fund raising activities. It is also very important to educate our younger team members to help elminate any pre conceived ideas of people with demntia as they are our future.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We are aiming to make necessary adjustments without affecting our existing guests.  Any adjustments will have an element of cost and making changes and keeping a ceiling on any financial implication will be a challenge.  In addition there will also be timing to take account of, in as much as future training for new employees as a pledge of our committment to the charity.
