1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We aim to provide a safe and calm environment.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We do not have a quiet room.

2. Actions

  • Dementia Friends

We will ensure that many of our employees attend a Dementia Friends session either face-to-face or online.  This will help to increase their knowledge and understanding of dementia so that they feel better equipped to deal with any patients displaying the signs and symptoms of the disease.

  • Information and Communication

We will display the Jesmond Dementia Action Alliance Newsletter

  • Staff Guide

We will have a Customer Facing Staff Guide and bring this to the attention of our staff.
