1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

To be part of a group that has the same views and values as Home Instead Senior Care to improve the knowledge and understanding of communities by holding Dementia Friends sessions to help support anyone affected by dementia.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

  • Time restraints
  • Difficulty engaging the local community to attend sessions

2. Actions

  • Inform the local Community about the work of Home Instead and how the support and care we provide can help a person who lives with Dementia remain in their own home

During Carers week w/c 6th June 2016, Home Instead Dudley and Sandwell South are holding an information stand on 8th June and 10th June at Aldi store, Pear Tree Lane Dudley. We will be explaining how Caregivers from Home Instead can offer support for their clients, who live with Dementia in their own homes.
