1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

1.      The National Dementia Declaration lists a number of outcomes that we are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

LCVS can offer support, advice and training to ensure the organisations providing dementia services are well managed and sustainable, improving continuity of care and support for people with dementia.

This can include advice and support with Governance, Management  Committees, policies and safeguarding processes, funding (sources if funding and making grant applications) as well as recruiting and retaining volunteers to support the organisation. We can also offer training in any aspect of the above as well as county wide publicity for events and issues.

 2.      What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

As we do not deliver direct services for people with Dementia we can only offer a second level of support.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Our main challenge would be a lack of awareness about the support we can offer.
