1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
The Community Transport Scheme provides transport for people living with dementia collecting them directly from their front door and taking them to local dementia activity groups. These helps to contribute to people being able to remain independant for longer.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
The challenges we can foresee are:
Making sure staff and volunteers are trained appropriately.
To offer Dementia Friends information sessions to all staff & Volunteers
We will offer Dementia Friends sessions to all staff and volunteers involved in the Community Transport Scheme
- Being implemented
2016 - First Quarter Update
All staff have taking part in the training and many volunteers have also attended. New volunteers will be offered the opportunity to attend
Support the Braintree District DAA
We will support the Alliance by attending a promotional event as part of Dementia Awareness Week.
Support people living with Dementia
We will continue to provide transport for people living with dementia to ensure that they are able to continue to attend Dementia Activities across the District.
