1. Action Plan

We are a charitable organisation delivering services from our community hub to members of all ages and abilities across the community. We already have evidence for the needs of these actions, and work with other groups and organisations to help raise awareness and signpost. In 2015 we completed a project for Wychavon District Council delivering training and raising awareness locally.

We will review the effectiveness of these actions by:

Action1: From feedback received from sessions and workshops delivered.

Action 2: Reviewing enquiries for local services and support groups.

Action 3: Review feedback and statistics from surveys and use of service from service providers. Ensure Dementia Awareness training is refreshed and delivered.

2. Actions

  • Dementia Awareness Training

We offer and have delivered accredited training or Dementia Friends awareness sessions to local businesses, local charities, groups, schools etc.

    2017 - First Quarter Update

Our member of staff that delivered these training courses left here in Sept 16 so we haven't run any since then.  But we have recently recruited a new member of staff that is qualified to deliver these so we will be running them again from the Spring.

  • Promoting Awareness

We can use our community hub to advertise local services and support groups.

    2017 - First Quarter Update

We liaise closely with the Droitwich Dementia Meeting Centre and promote their services for them.  We signpost to suitable classes and contacts where appropriate.

  • Provide Community Transport

Ensure that people that have dementia can access personalised transport services provided by trained volunteer drivers.

    2017 - First Quarter Update

We are finding that we are transporting a higher number of people suffering with Dementia recently.  A lot of the referrals comes from the Dementia meeting centre as they know and trust our volunteer drivers now.  The drivers are trained in dementia awareness and go above and beyond just their normal driving duties to ensure these passengers are looked after and safe.  Family members tell us that they are happier using our service than just a taxi serice as they understand we are more than just a taxi service.
