1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

The LFB has unique access to people in their homes and are able to support and identify people who may need support.  We are also active in preventing fires and offering fire safety visits where we will fit smoke alarms free of charge.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Many Firefighters will only have a basic understanding of dementia and the specific issues that can arise from people who live with the condition.

2. Actions
