1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

All staff to be dementia friendly and fully trained.

We offer home visits, sometimes out of office hours.

We offer a designated Lawyer to advise and ensure continuity and familiarity.

Individual client needs are recognised in terms of time required by each client and we aim to acknowledge the level of understanding with each client.

We support and interact with the local community and other SDAA members.

We offer financial and personal support to Southend Hospital Dementia Appeal and will continue to do so.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Keeping all staff up to date with latest Dementia practices and developments.

Consideration of environmental changes eg when considering redecoration of office spaces to maintain a calming and relaxed atmosphere.
