1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Use the knowledge we have from taking part in Dementia Friends sessions to respond with patience and understanding to the needs of those attending the cafe and church who are affected by dementia along with their carers, family and friends.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Adequately recognising what the correct response might be.

2. Actions

  • Dementia Friends

We are going to continue to offer Dementia Friends sessions to members of congregation and community.

  • Friday Cafe

We will encourage and give opportunities for reminiscence by having 2-3 photographs of events /times past on each table.

  • Our Church

We will liaise with other Dementia Friendly Churches in the UK and we will liaise with the relevant Diocesan Officer / task group as we aim to become a more dementia friendly church.
