1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We will display the Jesmond DAA newsletter in order to help signpost any customers that wish to find out more about what is happening in their area and where to turn for help. We will also let customers know about the dementia hub in the library and ensure we wear our Dementia Friends badges

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Finding time to attend a Dementia Friends session. We will overcome this through doing the online version

2. Actions

  • Dementia Friends

    Ensure that many of our employees attend a Dementia Friends session either face to face or online. This will help to increase their knowledge and understanding of dementia so that they feel better equipped to deal with any customers displaying the signs and symptoms of the disease.

    What we are going to do: We will happily display the Jesmond DAA newsletter on a quarterly basis so that our customers/ visitors are able to find out what is happening locally to them and gain updates on the work of the Jesmond DAA.
