1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

As an organisation we are regularly working in people’s homes. Becoming more dementia friendly will help our employees to be more understanding and appreciative of the difficulties encountered by people living with dementia.

2. Actions

  • Dementia Awareness

    Morrision Mears Rotherham will gain more knowledge about dementia cascading this knowledge within the management team and then though out the team of front line staff .

    This will give our work force of 180 a greater  awareness of the condition.

    We will embed dementia awareness in our induction / training programmes to ensure that this is knowledge available for our future employees .

  • Dementia Friends and Dementia Friends Champions

    We will have an allocated Dementia Friends champion able to cascade dementia knowledge and sign our work force as dementia friends.

    We will consider registering the Rotherham branch of Morrison Mears as an organisation on the Dementia Friends web site to access the dementia knowledge videos as training aids

  • Sign posting

    We will gain knowledge about local support services to sign post our customers when it is appropriate .

    This knowledge may also be useful to our work force
