1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Supply a tailored service to suit the needs of the client.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

NHS funding for sight tests is very limited under the General ophthalmic Service “GOS” and do not fund supplementary testing such as spatial awareness or perception deficit .

  • Dementia Friends

    Ensure our employees become Dementia Friends in order to heighten our awareness and knowledge of dementia so that we can better assist any customers displaying the signs and symptoms

  • Exploring Connections

    Explore the connections that can be made between local service providers to enhance the experience of people with dementia.

    Monitor the progress of people displaying signs and symptoms and by identifying specific visual needs tailoring the eye test to match i.e. picture test types
