1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Already we provide individual care and service, this will allow better training and awareness so we may extend this service.

  • Dementia Awareness raising for staff

    Ensure staff, especially all customer facing staff, attend a dementia awareness raising session.

  • Embed the concept of being ‘dementia friendly’ within the business.

     Review business operations manuals and guidance (e.g. staff training, H&S, refurbishment procedures etc.) to ensure dementia awareness is included.

  • Appoint a Dementia Lead

    Nominate a Dementia Lead for the organisation, to ensure the viewpoint of people with dementia is considered in all aspects of the organisation.
