We are a residential hme for the elderly. Our aim is to provide a comfortable and convenient home where everyday problems are shared and solved; to offer a lifestyle and atmosphere that is 'family-like', non-institutional and as stimulating and as peaceful as each situation allows and needs.

1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
Eastbury House wishes to encourage and focus local interest in the work of the Sherborne & District Dementia Alliance by promoting dementia awareness amongst local community groups, businesses and voluntary organisations.
We intend to ask people with dementia and their carers how awareness, accessibility and inclusion have been promoted and has it, in their opinion, made a difference.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
The financial implications of training. The challenge of overcoming people's preconceptions of dementia.
Promote the work of the Sherborne Dementia Alliance in Sherborne and the outlying districts.
Continued membership of the SDDAA Steering Group. Promote the activities of the local alliance by providing access to information and the website.
Encourage a member of staff to become a Dementia Friends Champion
Identify and select a suitable member of staff to consider becoming a Dementia Friendly Champion for in-house training and guidance for carers and families of Eastbury House residents.
