1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Creating  a safe, comfortable environment in which individuals can gain a sense of homeliness, friendship, purpose and wellbeing.

To raise awareness of dementia and break the myths and fears surrounding dementia to our service users and their carers/families and support them to live well with dementia.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Poor information and minimal support to people with learning disabilities post-diagnosis.

Inadequate public funding of dementia care for people with learning disabilities.
