1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

As a high street bank we aim to provide a welcoming environment for people with dementia and their carers.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Whilst we have good physical access to our Branch, we operate an appointments system, so if people require extra time or privacy to discuss matters, if would be best if appointment was booked in advance.

2. Actions

  • Dementia Awareness raising for staff

Ensure all customer facing staff are dementia aware. All Counter staff will undertake Dementia Awareness training

  • Embed the Concept of ‘Dementia Friendly’ within the business.

As part of our staff health and safety / induction training, we will include dementia awareness as mandatory.

    Being implemented
  • Provide dementia friendly goods / services

We will continue to provide extra time for appointments for clients with dementia and others who would benefit from extra time spent on them in a private area of the Bank

  • Fundraising

Some of our 2016 Charity Fund raising will be dedicated to funds for Dementia-friendly Alton
