Curo - Community Connect

Curo is a quality Housing and support provider in the South West. Community Connect is a service run by Curo and covers the whole of North Somerset. The service has community agents, wellbeing workers and community development workers. Their role is to work with over 50’s, and support them to stay connected, supported and active in their communities so they can remain living independently in their own home for as long as they can.

1. Action Plan

Create a team culture which is dementia friendly and really cares about the issues and barriers faced by its sufferers and carer.

Have regular good practice case scenarios to share at a team meeting.

Raise awareness through training and making sure that all new staff/ recruits have a basic understanding from a customer perspective.

  • Dementia awareness in our practice

    Improve our awareness of the issues customers with dementia face.

    Make sure that every member of the team has received basic awareness training. 

    Keep our knowledge up to date by being involved at a partnership level with agencies who promote/campaign/work with dementia issues.

    What we are going to do:

    Increase our knowledge of dementia groups (memory clubs) and promote these to our customers.

    Partnership support dementia organisations to start/maintain more community groups with dementia friendly activities.
