1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Ensuring all of our staff and volunteers undertake Dementia Friend Training.

Speak to local community groups about the Dementia Action Alliance and ensure they are aware of the organisation and the work that they do.

Ensure these local groups are aware they can access Dementia Friend Training.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Mostly time, as a very busy organsiation with time demands it can be that tasks like this are done at quieter periods. As we work in transport it can be incredibly busy very quickly.

2. Actions

  • Accessibility

Would like insight from someone living with dementia regarding getting on/off buses/toilets/office environment etc

  • Bookings

Regular bookings, working closer with carers to ensure that bookings are made and remembered.

  • Training new drivers and volunteers
