1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We aim to increase our levels of dementia awareness and to be able to signpost customers who ask about dementia to local relevant services. We now have a local directory and further information on who to refer to.

We are sometimes the first service provider a family may have contact with around the time of diagnosis, when additional aids are required in the home.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We are a small business with a limited number of staff. But we will always endeavour to provide excellent customer service and raise our level of dementia awareness.
