Holmecarr Ark and Crafts Ltd

Established as a social enterprise in 2010 to support the local community, we offer a host of opportunities for learning, recreation and volunteering at our base in the village of Rossington in Doncaster. If you want to boost your self-confidence and skills, pursue a new interest, meet people or improve your employment prospects, our varied activities will give you the chance to do just that. You can get involved in any of our diverse and popular projects: •The Ark community cafe •Arts and craft classes •Gardens and allotment We work with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds in all sorts of situations. If you’re out of work, a lone parent or feeling isolated for any reason you can broaden your horizons and make the most of your leisure time in a friendly, welcoming environment. If you’ve got learning difficulties or a disability, you can bring a carer along to join in and support you. All our projects offer opportunities for education, volunteering and socialising so whether you want to improve your cooking skills, get creative in the classroom or try your hand at horticulture, we’d love to meet you.

    Encourage all staff to attend a Dementia Friends information session

    Encourage all staff to participate in the Social Care Institute for Excellence elearning resource.

    Admin Assistant will undertake the Dementia Friends champion course to continue to provide awareness throughout the year to staff.

  • Dementia Friendly environments

    We are trialling a morning per week in our cafe to provide social interaction for people who are lonely or have the early stages of dementia.  We will provide a friendly environment with staff who will be there to support people in joining in games, conversations and reminiscence sessions.
