Hedge End Town Council

Hedge End Town Council is the largest Council outside the Eastleigh Borough Council with a population of nearly 25,000 people. It provides services to the community ranging from recreation and leisure activities to burial services. The Town Council serves the community and strives to provide the highest quality of service to the electorate at low cost to the public purse.

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

  • Dementia Awareness raising for staff

     Ensure all staff attend a dementia awareness raising session

  • Being a full participating member of the Hedge End Dementia Action Group

    A Hedge End Dementia Action Group has been established and its inaugural meeting will take place on 3 September 2015

  • Make improvements to the physical environment of Hedge End to make it more dementia friendly

    Improve community halls including the Town Council offices (2000 Centre) to ensure dementia friendly targets are met and implemented.

     Dispense public awareness literature and raise awareness.
