1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We aim to deliver the highest quality of service to everyone who walks through the door.

Staff to be dementia aware, so offering better service to customers; learning and implementing ways of asking questions to make life easier for people with dementia when they are ordering.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Time for training, ability to make changes to our environment.

2. Actions

  • Dementia Awareness raising for staff

     Ensure all staff, attend a dementia awareness raising session

  • Review environment to see if/how changes could be made to make our cafe more dementia friendly

    Make changes where appropriate, staff awareness of how they may be able to support customers where changes can’t be made.
