1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

By being dementia friendly, customers with dementia and their carers will feel confident to become our customers.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

  • Raise staff awareness about dementia.

    Action 2

    Title: Raise staff awareness about dementia.

    Description: Encourage all staff to watch dementia friend film at or attend a face to face Dementia Friends session or alternative dementia awareness course.

    Provide staff with access to the Alzheimer's Society customer Facing Staff Guide.

    Title: Understand how to make my customer environment more dementia friendly and consider simple changes that could be made.

    Description: Carry out an environmental audit using the audit tool and where possible make reasonable adjustments to support people with dementia.
