Local Alliances:
Hampshire Dementia Action Alliance

1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We have recently received Dementia training for businesses, this has given our staff a better understanding of how they can assist people in our local community.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

  • Staff understanding and awareness of dementia is limited.
  • Time and release from duties to commit to awareness sessions and dementia action alliance meetings
  • Staff not living in the community the work in.
