1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

As a key advice organisation within Lincolnshire, our services are client centred and we focus on improving the quality of client’s lives through the provision of information and advice. Our involvement with this the local DAA will help us consolidate our current partnership working and help us make new contacts with all sectors of the community, including individuals living with dementia and their carers. By committing to our actions, Citizens Advice Mid Lincolnshire will work towards becoming dementia friendly.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We will need to plan our involvement with the Dementia Action Alliance to ensure that our ongoing service delivery continues as normal while we work towards our action plan goals. One of our aims is to train Citizens Advice staff and volunteers across Lincolnshire to become dementia friends. In order to do this, we will need to deliver training events across the county whilst ensuring that clients can still access our service effectively. In addition to face to face training we will uses electronic resources as appropriate.
