1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

As a community based coffee house I believe every member of staff should have an understanding of dementia thus allowing them to assist those living with dementia and their carers by reading body language, listening carefully to them and giving them the time they need.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Being short staffed and/or very busy.

2. Actions

  • Dementia Awareness raising for staff

Ensure all customer facing staff are dementia aware

  • Suitable Crockery

Provide colourful and more stable cups

  • Environment

Identify quieter times for people living with dementia to come to The Coffee House
