1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
Our organisation can help people with dementia and their carers by raising awareness and understanding of dementia through promotion of the East Riding Dementia Action Alliance and other dementia services and events through our magazines and social media.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
Time constraints are our biggest challenge.

Awareness Raising
Where possible we will raise our own dementia awareness, as well as the awareness of others, by either attending a face-to-face Dementia Friends session or watching the Dementia Friends online video at https://www.dementiafriends.org.uk/ and encouraging others to do so.

Use of Dementia Friendly Language
In our articles we will try to refer to ‘people living with dementia’, rather than ‘dementia sufferers’ and use positive language where appropriate.
We will view the Language of Dementia Part 1 &2 Powerpoint available at http://www.dementiaaction.org.uk/resources/regional_resources
