1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We regularly deal with members of the community who have dementia and so we are well aware of the importance of raising awareness of this disease and working towards Jesmond being recognised as a Dementia Friendly Community. We frequently work alongside community groups such as the elders council in Jesmond where we have delivered talks in the past to do with health and our pharmacy services. We are keen to raise awareness of what we are doing for those living with dementia within Jesmond and pride ourselves on delivering a high level of customer service.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We are very busy so we will struggle when it comes to having the time to attend a dementia friends session. We are going to overcome this however through carrying out the online sesison instead.
