1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Many of our regular customers are living with dementia, we can provide an improved service if we understand some of their challenges.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Staff availability for dementia awareness. There will be a limit to the changes we are able to make to our premises environment.

    Ensure all staff, attend a dementia awareness raising session

    Make changes we are able to make and ensure staff have awareness of things we can’t change so they are able to help customers in these areas.

    An information point with leaflets etc about local services for those affected by dementia

    Dispense medication in ‘Nomad’ trays to aid compliance and to help patients   remember to take their medication. (Initial assessment for requirement to be carried out by GP.)
