1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Action 1 - Understanding Dementia

All staff and volunteers to attend relevant training courses and become Dementia Friends Champions.

Action 2 - Become a Dementia Friendly Organisation

Bob Simonds CEO, to liaise and work with the DAA on the plans and requirements for our new office building to make it a dementia friendly environment.

Action 3 - Dementia Awareness Co-ordinator

Age UK representative to attend DAA meetings, interact in the community and feedback to the team.

 

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

All staff to attend relevant training courses, moving to a new 'fit for purpose' premises.
