London Fire Brigade - Ealing

Fire safety in the community We work closely with the communities we serve to make London a safer place to live, work and visit. Alongside the work we do with young people, visiting schools (see LFB Schools Team section) and carrying out home fire safety visits we are also responsible for enforcing fire safety legislation as well as being the licensing authority for the storage of petroleum in London. We have also provided tools for Londoners to see how many fire related incidents there are in their respective areas with the London Fire Brigade Incident Mapping site. You can see the types of incidents in your postcode area as well as the fire stations in that particular borough.

1. Action Plan

Fire safety in the community is of the upmost importance to the London Fire Brigade.

We will work closely alongside the Ealing DAA to ensure that people living with or affected by dementia in the borough can access fire safety information.

We will provide dementia friendly fire safety mechanisms in the home and train families and carers in how to make the home dementia and fire safe.

We will work with other organisations to ensure this information is delivered in the most efficient and effective means possible.

Further to this we will provide training and advice to our customer facing staff to maximise fire safety within the community.

2. Actions

  • We will work cross organisationally in Ealing

To work other partner organisations to identify those affected by dementia so that appropriate safety interventions can be implemented.
