1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
We are a local shop and provide a service for the local community.
We understand that two thirds of people with Dementia live in the community and that the numbers are increasing.
It is important for people to feel safe and welcome in the community we can help this happen by being understanding and learning more about the difficulties a person with dementia might experience.
We can also tell people about support services that are available in the local area.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
People with Dementia may come into this shop accidently and need help finding where to go .
If the shop was busy this may be difficult
Increase my knowledge about dementia by signing up as a Dementia Friend and encouraging others to do the same
Have knowledge about the support services available through AZ society locally and tell people about them any time it feels appropriate
