1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Bonmarché Fareham are at the heart of the community working towards greater awareness, understanding and on-going staff training to help better support our customers. We aim to provide excellent customer service and to support a dementia friendly environment within Fareham Shopping Centre.

 By developing a better understanding in helping those with dementia we hope to gain further recognition as a great place for customers with this condition along with their family and friends to visit and have an enjoyable shopping experience.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We recognise this would be an on-going project with continual development and awareness. Although challenging in organising and implementing staff training, awareness and building confidence; we will no doubt grow overtime to achieve our objectives.

    Continuing to develop awareness of our intentions in creating a dementia friendly environment and how this can be achieved by working with Bonmarché staff and the Shopping Centre
