1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

All our core staff with be Dementia Friends. Encourage staff to be Dementia aware with the goal of improving the quality of life of people living with dementia and their carers by creating a supportive environment in store and within our community           

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Raising awareness in store and making changes without cost implications

2. Actions

  • Dementia Friends

    Ensure that all our employees have attended a Dementia Friends session, either in person or online.

  • Reminder System

    If we know a customer has Dementia, we will send them out a reminder on the day of their appointment as a little extra nudge.

    We will ensure that the store is as Dementia Friendly as possible by implementing some of the items from the ‘Dementia Friendly Environment Checklist’ where possible.
