1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We would be happy to help raise awareness of issues around dementia, provide the opportunity for workshops for staff and students, stalls at events we host etc, and to share materials within our community.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We need the co-operation of key personal but do not envisage this will be an issue.

2. Actions

  • Awareness Raising

    We will work with the local alliance to arrange a number of workshops for staff and students to raise understanding and awareness of the condition and how we as individuals and a community can assist and support.

  • Staff Festival presence

    Invite the local alliance to attend our staff festival in June 2015 as a stall holder to raise awareness and raise funds as applicable.

  • Accessibility to the campus

    Keep under review our accessibility, signage and support on campus to ensure those with the condition are made welcome and able to navigate around our beautiful grounds.
