1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

As a high street based hair salon we aim to provide a welcoming environment for people with dementia and their carers.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Whilst we have good signposting in our salon, we are a bit limited by the steps and tight access to our salon, which means we cannot accommodate wheelchair users.

2. Actions

  • Dementia Awareness raising for staff

Ensure all customer facing staff are dementia aware. Every 3 months we run a Dementia Workshop for new staff at the beginning of the program
