1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
We provide service to individuals that support them in legal matters that helps them to stay at home and in their community , enjoying the best quality of life for longer.
We aim to improve customer service through increasing awareness and understanding of dementia. Some of our staff have taken part in a dementia friend session and have become dementia friends. We have literature in our Ilminster office available for all staff to read in regards to raising awareness of dementia.
We arrange home visits if necessary for people to discuss and update their legal affairs.
We will ensure our in-house newsletters are inclusive of matters regarding dementia.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
Lack of knowledge and understanding amongst our staff and community.
Limited time and resources.
